Last night I opened my blogging career with a cool 0-1-1 on my bets. Of course deGrom pitched to a 1-1 draw against the Cubbies last night. Why would I expect the Mets to do anything other than tie a baseball game? Quite the way to reward fans that stayed up late to watch the game (me).
So here we are, still unable to get that first W. Unable to see the ball go through the hoop for the first time. My confidence is plummeting and we need to stop the freefall before we’re livin’ in a little place I like to call Jam City. I’ve spent far too many nights in Jam City. I’m like one of those rich people that spend 50% of their time in a different city so they can avoid paying taxes. Except I still have to pay taxes because Jam City isn’t real. Damn, thought I had something there.
I’m Steph Curry after missing his first few treys right now. No problem, we’re just going to drive hard off a pick and get ourselves a layup. Just need to remember what a W feels like, just need a whiff of that sweet smell of victory.

So where are we going to find ourselves a layup today…?
Let’s talk soccer.
Today we’ve got the New York Redbull hosting the Houston Dynamo. The Redbull haven’t lost in 5 matches and are up there with the best teams in Major League Soccer. On the other side of the pitch, the Dynamo have not won a game in 8 tries and are well outside the playoff discussion in the West. In the last 54 days, you, the readers, have won as many games as the Houston Dynamo. Congrats!
If you’re not sold on this being our layup tonight, the Red Bull feature Kaku as one of their stars. Sound familiar? Yeah, that’s probably because he’s only one small vowel away from being one of the best Brazilian mid fielders of all time.

To recap: We have a really good team at home against a really bad team.
New York Red Bull -1 (-140) over Houston Dynamo
#Chalkitup as a win baby
